Privacy Policy

Effective April 18, 2026

1. Summary

Deadline Safe (the "Service"), operated by Pepper and Pepper Inc, collects only the information needed to monitor USDOT numbers you give us and to deliver alerts to the contact channels you provide. We never sell your personal data.

2. Information we collect

  • Account data: the email address (and phone number, if you choose to share it) you provide when you sign up, plus the USDOT number(s) you add for monitoring.
  • FMCSA public data: we fetch and store publicly available motor-carrier data from FMCSA (QCMobile and SAFER) for the USDOT numbers you register.
  • Billing data: when you purchase a subscription, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive from Stripe only a customer ID, subscription ID, and status — never your full card number or CVV.
  • Usage data: email open/click events from Resend, SMS delivery events from Twilio (only for opt-in SMS), and basic server logs (IP, user-agent, timestamp) used to prevent abuse and debug the Service.

SMS opt-in data: phone numbers and consent records collected for our SMS program are used solely to deliver the alerts you opted in to and to process opt-outs. We do not share, sell, or transfer your phone number or SMS consent status to any third party for marketing purposes, and this information is not used for any other purpose. See SMS program terms for frequency, cost, and opt-out details.

3. How we use data

  • To send the alerts and snapshots you signed up for.
  • To process payments and maintain your subscription.
  • To improve the Service and prevent abuse.
  • To send occasional product updates from the same address — every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link.

We do not sell your personal information and do not share it with advertisers.

4. Subprocessors

We rely on the following vendors, all of whom are bound by their own security and privacy commitments:

  • Supabase (database hosting, US regions)
  • Vercel (application hosting, US regions)
  • Stripe (payment processing)
  • Resend (transactional email)
  • Twilio (opt-in SMS)
  • Anthropic (AI-powered violation explanations)
  • Plausible (cookieless website analytics — no personal data, no IP storage)
  • Trailsync (CRM mirror of customer-relationship data)

5. Data retention

Account and FMCSA snapshot data is retained while your account is active and for up to 24 months after cancellation so that you can resume service. You may request earlier deletion at any time by emailing hello@deadlinesafe.com.

6. Your rights

You may at any time:

  • Unsubscribe from marketing email using the footer link in any outreach message.
  • Reply STOP to any SMS you receive — delivery stops immediately.
  • Request a copy of the data we hold about you, or request its deletion, by emailing the address above.

7. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the right to (a) know what personal information we collect, (b) request deletion of that information, (c) opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising), and (d) not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To submit a request, email hello@deadlinesafe.com.

8. Security

Data is transmitted over TLS, stored in SOC 2-certified infrastructure, and access is restricted to personnel who need it to operate the Service. We do not store payment card numbers.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Contact

Privacy questions or rights requests: hello@deadlinesafe.com, or by mail at the address below.
